Getting oriented in central Krosno

Krosno city centre is compact in character, with its historic heart on higher ground between two rivers. The city covers approximately 45 km² and is divided into six districts and six housing estates, so the central area is one part of a wider city.

The Market Square is a useful starting point for understanding Krosno’s glass identity. The city calls itself Krosno—City of Glass, and a ceremony marking that designation took place in the square on 2 June 2012.

From there, the Glass Heritage Centre at Blich 2 offers a closer look at glassmaking through demonstrations visitors can take part in, alongside exhibitions in its threshold cellars and temporary-exhibition hall.

The Glass Heritage Centre’s guided tours begin on the hour and require advance booking or an available place. Tours are guided only.

Admission is 33 PLN for the main building, 42 PLN for the main building and threshold cellars, or 12 PLN for the threshold cellars; children up to 5 years old enter free. Opening hours are Monday–Saturday 09:00–17:00 and Sunday 11:00–17:00, with last admission two hours before closing.
